Class photos

Just a few photos to show you what we have been up to over the last couple of weeks.

We had lots of fun making and testing our windmills. Most of them went round!
We've also been out splashing in puddles in the rain. We know where rain comes from now.

We've already learnt three new sounds this term - sh, th, and ch. Here we are making playdough 'ch'
objects.
We all made a clock to help with telling the time. I hope you are all using them at home!
We had fun sorting classroom objects in different ways. We thought about shape, size and colour when we were sorting.
Here we are in our Weather studio. Very serious stuff!
I hope you've enjoyed looking at these pictures!
Congratulations to Keiran Jones who was our Seren Yr Wythnos this week. Fabulous spelling Keiran!
See you all tomorrow.

All Sorts Weather Reports!

Well our new role play area is nearly up and running. We have a weather map with symbols, headphones, microphone, telephone, a globe and a camera! The children are enjoying playing in the studio and it's lovely to hear the children saying 'Lights, Camera, Action' before launching into their UK and world weather reports! We are still looking for an old computer if anyone can help plus smart clothes for our budding Forecasters to wear.

We are also looking for donations of old fabric for our 'Whatever You Want' role play in the Area. If anyone has any spare fabric it will be made great use of.

Thank you to everyone who has sent wellies in. We had fun splashing in the puddles last week!

Well done to Dax Ellis and Jared Dickson who have been our last two Seren Yr Wythnos winners. You both thoroughly deserved it!

Looking forward to another week of fun weather activities including making windmills and investigating waterproof materials.

See you Monday

Welcome back!

Welcome to 2011 in Class 8!

Well, what a busy first week we have had! The children were keen to tell me their Christmas news and then all had a really good go at writing about their holidays in their new langauge books. Great use of capital letters and full stops everyone!

We have already made a start on making props for our Weather studio role play. We collaged some big weather symbols which will go up around the 'studio' The children also drew smaller symbols along with Welsh captions to use on the weather studio map. Next week we're going to have a go at making a camera out of junk materials and will begin to put the studio together.

You should all have had our termly overview which was sent home with the children yesterday. Any questions about the overview or any offers of ideas or resources, please pop in and see me at the end of the day.

Finally congratulations to Ella-Mae who was our first Seren yr Wythnos winner of the term.

See you on Monday.
